Quality Models for Open, Flexible, and Online Learning

Image
Quality Models for Open, Flexible, and Online Learning DOI:  https://doi.org/10.30564/jcsr.v2i4.2357 Abstract This article is based on research conducted for the European Commission Education & Training 2020 working group on digital and online learning (ET2020 WG-DOL) specifically regarding policy challenges, such as the following: 1) Targeted policy guidance on innovative and open learning environments under outcome; 2) Proposal for a quality assurance model for open and innovative learning environments, its impact on specific assessment frameworks and its implication for EU recognition and transparency instruments. The article aims to define quality in open, flexible, and online learning, particularly in open education, open educational resources (OER), and massive open online courses (MOOC). Hence, quality domains, characteristics, and criteria are outlined and discussed, as well as how they contribute to quality and personal learning so that learners can orchestrate and tak...

The Adoption of E-learning by Students in Zimbabwean Universities in the Wake of COVID-19

The Adoption of E-learning by Students in Zimbabwean Universities in the Wake of COVID-19 DOI:  https://doi.org/10.30564/jeisr.v3i2.3722 Abstract COVID-19 effects have been felt in the education sector worldwide where schools, colleges, and universities were closed as a way to reduce the spread of the deadly pandemic and loss of lives. The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education. advocate that no child should be left behind during the COVID-19 era, therefore gave a directive for universities to use other alternative means of teaching and learning to continuously provide teaching and learning to students during the series of lockdown. An efficient eLearning system in universities is very important as an alternative to faceto-face teaching and learning in this COVID-19 era to have continuity in teaching and learning during the induced lockdowns. Success in online learning can be achieved by understanding the level of readiness of online learning environments. The main objective of ...

Establishing the Forecasting Model with Time Series Data Based on Graph and Particle Swarm Optimization

Establishing the Forecasting Model with Time Series Data Based on Graph and Particle Swarm Optimization DOI:  https://doi.org/10.30564/jcsr.v5i1.5443 Received: 2 February 2023 | Revised: 24 March 2023 | Accepted: 27 March 2023 | Published Online: 13 April 2023 Abstract In recent years, a wide variety of fuzzy time series (FTS) forecasting models have been created and recommended to handle the complicated and ambiguous challenges relating to time series data from real-world sources. However, the accuracy of a model is problem-specific and varies across data sets. But a model’s precision varies between different data sets and depends on the situation at hand. Even though many models assert that they are better than statistics and a single machine learning-based model, increasing forecasting accuracy is still a challenging task. In the fuzzy time series models, the size of the intervals and the fuzzy relationship groups are thought to be crucial variables that affect the model’s forec...

Self-health Monitoring and Reporting System for COVID-19 Patients Using CAN Data Logger

Image
Self-health Monitoring and Reporting System for COVID-19 Patients Using CAN Data Logger DOI:  https://doi.org/10.30564/jcsr.v3i3.3487 Abstract In the evolving situation of highly infectious coronavirus, the number of confirmed cases in India has largely increased, which has resulted in a shortage of health care resources. Thus, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare- Government of India issued guidelines for the ‘Home isolation of COVID-19 positive patients’ methodology for asymptomatic patients or with mild symptoms. During home isolation, the patients are required to monitor and record the pulse rate, body temperature, and oxygen saturation three times a day. This paper proposes a system that can request data from the required sensor to measure the pulse rate, body temperature, or oxygen saturation. The requested data is sensed by the respective sensor placed near the patients’ body and sent to the CAN data logger over the CAN bus. The CAN data logger live streams the sensor v...

Re-designing Conventional Face Mask by Using Triz (Teoriya Resheniya Izobreatatelskikh Zadatch) Method

Image
Re-designing Conventional Face Mask by Using Triz (Teoriya Resheniya Izobreatatelskikh Zadatch) Method Abstract New Normal becomes the way out to keep Indonesia's weakened economy because of covid-19 pandemic stays in balance. Of course, New Normal must be well-balanced with the application of strict protocols to reduce transmission rates and anticipate a surge in new cases. From a few points of pandemic protocols, using face mask is considered as the most-effective basic need. Re-designing the mask is aiming at eliminating the worsening feature and developing the improving feature. This research is developing the widely used 1-ply mask, which doesn't meet WHO standard regarding cloth-material mask that must be made in 3-ply. The method used in this research is TRIZ (Teoriya Resheniya Izobreatatelskikh Zadatch), an inventive problem solving theory to the issues regarding ideas, products, or concepts, in this case is face mask redesigning concept. In this research, the data are ...

Keywords: COVID-19 Supply chain Apparel industry Import Export Impacts Strategies Bangladesh  ABSTRACT This research work was intended to analyze the unleashed issues related  to apparel trade during COVID-19 pandemic & made an attempt to find  the best possible responses to uphold marketing campaigns during &  after the pandemic situation. Apparel industries in Asia, the largest global  hub of both the textile & apparel import-export trade have been severally  damaged by the COVID-19. Over the last one year, the global community  had already realized the fact that how pandemic situation disrupted the  supply chain management of textile, apparel & fashion manufacturing  industries throughout the world. Bangladesh, one of the top ranked  garments exporter countries have been facing the burning bridges, due  to the scarcity of raw materials & gradual cancellation export orders.  The contribution of the ...
